Not surprisingly, that Wii, even before its release, has attracted attention, and got on the E3 2006 two major awards – Best of Show and Best Hardware, beating PS3, which at the exhibition frankly faced down in the mud. Needless to say that interest to the Wii there was significantly higher than to the creation of Sony. Press immediately picked up the mood: “Wii is a new word!”, “Healthy gaming system”. Of course, there were impressive lines near shops, all the consoles were sold out immediately, but it was fairly quiet and peaceful. Something like: “Fans of Nintendo – are more intelligently.” In fact, with the Wii there were no production problems. The situation is that Nintendo could produce for the market as many consoles as customers want. And the company doesn’t loss money on the consoles, but instead earns. Price of consoles, as promised, was lower than price for consoles of competitors, and totalled only $ 250.

Nintendo has not forgotten even about our country, where with the efforts of “New disc” – official representative of the “big N”, Wii launch occurred in December 22. Price, however, was not so low. If in the rest of the world Wii sells for $ 250 (6700 rubles), then we have price about $ 370 (10 000 rubles). An on this money, by the way, you can buy Xbox 360 (Core version). But the deficit is not expected. For our country were delivered 10.000 consoles. That for Russia is more than enough. Prices for games lower, of course, but higher than in the rest of the world. In average – 1600 rubles, may be more (for examples – the Internet shop Ozon for Wii`s CD wants about 2000 rubles), but somewhere it can be lower.

There is no expected preparation for our market. The interface is not translated (by the way, in Japanese version of the PS3 interface is translated), there is no Russian documents or games. The only thing that you will find in the box on “native” language is a booklet with a description of some projects for the Nintendo DS. Nothing more. However, “New disc” promises to translate the interface and instructions in a year. But there are no talks about full localization. Hope, that it will be possible very soon.
